Main Street Minden, a non-profit organization focused on preserving and revitalizing the historic downtown, was set for dissolution October 31, 2017.
It’s mission and purpose are described here:
Main Street Minden (MSM) is a non-profit organization focused on preserving the historic downtown and reintroducing downtown Minden as the heart of our community and an exciting place to visit and do business. Over the next several years we will work to evolve downtown Minden into a more activity-rich, walkable, special event destination.
The MSM organization is made up of Minden and valley businesses and residents, and volunteers from these communities power our activities.
MSM is part of a larger concept and a larger program, Main Street America™, which is a network of more than 2,000 historic downtowns and neighborhood commercial districts. You may have visited another Main Street town in your own travels since they make great destinations — Old Monterey or Paso Robles, California, Astoria, Oregon, and our neighbor, Main Street Gardnerville.
In partnership with our members, residents and local public and private agencies, MSM activities will build on Minden’s strengths, evolving it into a thriving destination for the benefit of the community at large.
